I think I search out sadness in my photography so I can better understand it inside of me. I never go out hoping to find it. I look for beautiful things, and I see beauty in despair, regret, and longing. These people are alone at the moment I snap the photo. I’ve walked down these streets and seen all types of peoples, but I was most drawn to the subjects of these photographs. No matter where they have been, or where they are going, when I see them they are alone, and I am too.

This man once asked me why we do this. Why do we jump down stairs and onto ledges. Half the time slamming our body’s into the ground just to get up and try again.
